Even More

You know that feeling when you hear a new song? One that reaches so deeply, it makes you move…

It was a few years ago on a Sunday morning, at my home church, when I first heard the Pastor teaching on I Timothy 4. I can hardly remember the message he taught because I read the whole chapter as he spoke – just being honest here.
It was so refreshing to my spirit, landing on that last verse: “Give careful attention to your spiritual life and every cherished truth you teach, for living what you preach will then release even more abundant life inside you and to all those who listen to you.” – 1 Tim. 4:16 TPT

When the Word of God says we are to give careful attention to something, it means it’s not something that we naturally do, but something we must become intentional about doing. Our spiritual life and every cherished truth we teach – our walk and our talk – the “whole” of who we are. The extraordinary seriousness of the Gospel we have been entrusted.
To be vigilant – counting the cost of leadership, the weight of our calling, the importance of our obedience, persevering in the fulfillment of our ministries, our morality and integrity – is nothing but opening the door to “even more” abundant life in us and to all who listen.
Yes, even more than the abundant life we have been given through Jesus Christ – as if we can even imagine the fullness.

Next time you find yourself exhausted while studying for a message, resisting temptation, going the extra mile, or having to own your words – Remember: You are going through a door to release the fullness of God to you and others.
Time is precious because the stakes are so high in an evil age. It is, therefore, the responsibility, not only of every minister, but every Christian, to take heed of their life and conversation – to be an example and become doers of The Message – and in doing so, becoming doors to the abundant life we have in Jesus, and even more!

That was my new song. Ever since that day, I have decided to move. My hope is it can do the same for you.
